A Comparative Analysis of Rhetorical Move and Genre Knowledge Development of English and Indonesian Thesis

A number of studies have shown that genre analysis through move is a practical approach to identifying complexity in writing research papers (RAs). However, the development general knowledge embodied abstract discourse patterns rarely known. This study aims clarify whether educational level influences knowledge, especially field research. Using Hyland's (2000) five-step model, this analyzes comparison and identity thesis abstracts English Indonesian. The results showed several differences similarities realization final project As for its expressed learning, from undergraduate postgraduate. can be seen both languages, Move1 (Introduction) presents richer variety step-by-step implementations. also shows there are no significant across languages areas.
